Looks like the groundhog saw his shadow.

This is the time of year that I have had it with winter. I want spring and I want it bad. In my neck of the woods real spring weather is at least two months away (if we are lucky!). In fact, it is snowing as a write this. We will probably end up with at least 12″. The schools are closed today so my kids are very happy and no doubt will venture outside to make a snowfort or a snowman and even a few snow angels. Okay, I admit the snow is very pretty covering the trees and fences glistening in the sun. And I have been known to join my boys outside to make a few snowmen and snowangels myself. It is actually the cold that gets to me. And we have been very cold the last few weeks. So that is why I get the redecorating fever. This year I am redoing my youngest son’s bedroom. (at his request). Gone is Winnie the Pooh. (so sad for me). In it’s place is outer space. Complete with planets, stars, asteroids, a space shuttle, and even the space station. I hope to complete it this weekend. I am also redecorating the rest of my house with a few of my own pieces to bring spring into my home a bit early this year. When I look at my concrete leaves I know eventually the real thing will be sprouting up in the garden. If you want to see more of my pieces I have them on www.folkartandfriends.com. You will be amazed at the talented group of artists who are showing and selling there work. I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes for this time of year.
“Always maintain a kind of summer even in the middle of winter” -Thoreau

I stumbled upon this today. All the leaves in this photo, taken by Chris Glass are from the same tree! Mother Nature is truely amazing! And for all you color junkies out there (like me) check out www.COLOURlovers.com and get inspired by thousands of color palettes.
Enjoy

It’s a new year and new beginnings for me. Starting this blog is one of them along with unveiling my website. So check back often for many fun things to come. For now, here is one of my favorite quotes. This is on one of the walls in my creative space. I will post more images of my space later.
So long for now.
